About inuit beautiful
The Journey Begins...
I began my collection of Inuit art accidently, not by design or inheritance. While on vacation, I caught sight of what would become my first piece: a bear by Dennis James-Gambell. That chance sighting in a gallery window ignited my passion for these unique works of art from the Arctic.
What truly extraordinary gifts these artisans of the Arctic have given the world. Their gifts are even more impressive when we consider the harsh conditions that have molded both the people and their talents. It is difficult for me to choose a favorite piece from this collection, which ranges from realistic to surrealistic, from Inuit life depictions to its mythological aspects.
The site will continue to grow. Please check back often and share in its evolution and progress. Art is meant to be appreciated and shared. We welcome thoughts and comments, to assist in that progress, as we hope to increase awareness and knowledge for all!
About inuit beautiful
The Journey Begins...
My collecting Inuit art started accidentally, not by design or inheritance, when I was in my late forties by a chance sighting in a gallery window while on vacation. It seems like yesterday when I purchased my first piece – a bear by Dennis James-Gambell – igniting my passion for these unique works of art from the Arctic.
That the harsh conditions of the Arctic have been a source of so much expressive art is truly extraordinary and has given a gift to the World. I presume that, like me, you will find it difficult to have a favorite piece in view of the artistic range from realistic to surrealistic and from representational of Inuit life to mythological.
The plan is to add to the website in groups of five artists at a time, so check back often and watch the website grow. Art is meant to be appreciated and shared with others, so any comments and thoughts will add to the interest of the website, as well as expand awareness and knowledge for all of us.
